Acceleration Radiation for Orbiting Electrons.∗

چکیده
This paper presents an analysis of the radiation seen by an observer in circular acceleration, for a magnetic spin. This is applied to an electron in a storage ring, and the subtilty of the interaction of the spin with the spatial motion of the electron is explicated. This interaction is shown to be time dependent (in the radiating frame), which explains the strange results found for the electron’s residual polarisation in the literature. Finally, some brief comments about the radiation emitted by an accelerating detector are made where it is shown that the spectrum is correlated in that particles are emitted in pairs. A uniformly accelerated objects sees the vacuum fluctuations as a thermal bath [1]. For an acceleration which is constant in amplitude and direction, this temperature is given by

Use of POES SEM‐2 observations to examine radiation belt dynamics and energetic electron precipitation into the atmosphere
[1] The coupling of the Van Allen radiation belts to the Earth’s atmosphere through precipitating particles is an area of intense scientific interest. Currently, there are significant uncertainties surrounding the precipitating characteristics of medium energy electrons (>20 keV), and even more uncertainties for relativistic electrons. In this paper we examine roughly 10 years of measurements o...

One of the interesting Laser-Plasma phenomena, when the laser power is high and ultra intense, is the generation of large amplitude plasma waves (Wakefield) and electron acceleration. An intense electromagnetic laser pulse can create plasma oscillations through the action of the nonlinear pondermotive force. electrons trapped in the wake can be accelerated to high energies, more than 1 TW. Of t...
متن کاملNonthermal Radiation and Acceleration of Electrons in Clusters of Galaxies
Recent observations of excess radiation at extreme ultraviolet and hard X-ray energies straddling the well known thermal soft X-ray emission have provided new tools and puzzles for investigation of the acceleration of nonthermal particles in the intercluster medium of clusters of galaxies. It is shown that these radiations can be produced by the inverse Compton upscattering of the cosmic microw...
متن کاملOrigin of power-law X-ray emission in the Steep power-law state of X-ray Binaries
We present a new scenario of the emissive origin in the Steep Power Law (SPL) state of X-ray Binaries. The power-law component of X-ray emission is the synchrotron radiation of relativistic electrons in highly magnetized compact spots orbiting near the inner stable circular orbit (ISCO) of black hole and has a hard spectrum that extends to above MeV bands determined by electron acceleration rat...
متن کاملDiffusive shock acceleration in radiation dominated environments
Context. Radio, X-ray, and gamma-ray observations provide us with strong evidence of particle acceleration to multi-TeV energies in various astrophysical sources. Diffusive shock acceleration is one of the most successful models explaining the presence of such high-energy particles. Aims. We discuss the impact of inverse Compton losses on the shock acceleration of electrons that takes place in ...
